About FRAA
Our Organization
The FRAA is a fellowship of anglers organized to preserve and promote the pleasures and traditions of angling, and to conserve sport fishing waters – especially the Farmington River and it’s watershed.
Meetings
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, Apr and May. All are welcome at our monthly meetings. These meetings give the membership a unique opportunity to learn the techniques of angling from both fellow members and from visiting experts. Our goal is to have at least one nationally known speaker and one salt water fly fishing presentation each year in addition to our focus on trout fishing.
Other Club Events
The Annual Banquet is a major club event held the first Saturday in March. Other events include the club picnic in June held at Peoples State Forest and river cleanups in the spring.
Fishing and River Improvement Programs
The club works towards improving the river with its own projects as well as working with other organizations. For the last several years the club has been working with the CT DEP to improve the Burlington Fish Hatchery.
